Driven Pheasant and Partridge Shooting

We are so fortunate that the land at Rushall, Upavon and Wilsford lends itself to present a fantastic driven pheasant and partridge shoot. We can show birds for beginners, right up to the most sporting birds in the country, meaning our door is open to everyone who wants to shoot. Typically the quarry will be split meaning that all of our drives are varied, well spread and relatively long. This is because we strive to make sure every gun gets their fair share of good quality shooting throughout the day.

One aspect that sets shooting at Rushall Organics apart from many others, is our care for our environment. The entire farm is organic and in the higher tier Countryside Stewardship Scheme, we ensures we look after our farm and habitat to the highest standards on offer. This means that the farm is abundant in wildlife, which is clear to see on any shoot day here. Not only do we do well for ground nesting birds such as grey partridge, corn bunting, stone curlew and yellowhammer, but we also do well for raptors including red kites, hen harriers and peregrine falcons. It is our belief that all of these species can coexist harmoniously whilst running a shoot like ours if the habitat is looked after appropriately, which we believe is on show for every shooting guest to witness.

There is a long history of shooting at Rushall Organics for over a century. Most notably was during the 1960s when Barry Wookey would host grey partridge days – the highest bag being over 500 brace, and they are often seen on shoot days still. It is the ambition of Keeper Dan to allow the grey partridge to flourish once more, and in a short space of time we have witnessed an increase in numbers, which is a great advert for our type habitat management.

Pricing and Info

We offer shooting to teams of 7 – 10 guns shooting bags of between 200 and 400 birds on a day from October 1st – February 1st. Prices for the season start at £49/bird + VAT. This includes all hospitality for the day for all the guns, with non-shooting guests more than welcome.

We like to shoot through to lunch at Rushall Organics, but we always welcome teams that like to stop for lunch if that is preferred. Our usual day would start with arrival at the impressive shoot lodge on the estate, where you will be welcome with bacon butties and hot tea and coffee before the shoot briefing. Once everyone has had a chance to catch up, we board our gun bus and head off for the first two drives of the day. These drives will always provide great variety of sport for all abilities of shot, which allows teams of mixed abilities to feel most welcome.

Once the second drive is over we pause for a substantial elevenses in our new elevenses hut, where one can discuss the morning’s shooting. It’s important to us that our elevenses are more than just a sausage roll and some sloe gin, as we like to provide good value for your investment in the day. We can also cater to your requirements so if there are any specific dietary stipulations, we’ve got you covered.

We the head out for the remaining drives of the day, showing variations on the mornings sport, but equally as fulfilling. This is all concluded with the now famous Rushall Organics shoot lunch at the lodge, arguably the best shoot lunch in the South West! Whilst enjoying your hospitality, Keeper Dan while give your guns a clean and provide you with some game to take home, as we believe it is vital that we eat what we shoot.

Only 90 minutes from London we are very accessible. However, if you do wish to stay the night we can recommend lots of good local accommodation.
